Naomi Goldberg: Director of Strategy

I am a seasoned professional who undertook a transformative journey spending two-and-a-half years as a volunteer with the United Nations in Vietnam. I bring a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of policy and performance from my prior positions in local government. In my last council post as Head of Policy and Performance at the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham Council I spearheaded initiatives focused on the Voluntary Sector, equalities, community development, and partnership working.

Taking on the role of Chief Executive at GAVS (Greenwich Action for Voluntary Service) in September 2009, I successfully led the development and then merger of GAVS with METRO Charity.

Now serving as METRO’s Director of Strategy, my primary focus is to ensure that the Greenwich Voluntary Sector possesses a powerful voice in its collaborations with Statutory and Voluntary stakeholders. By facilitating the sector’s representation, I aim to empower the Voluntary Sector and amplify its impact. To support this objective, I oversee the management of Pauline O'Hare, who leads the Infrastructure Support and Capacity Building Service within METRO GAVS. Additionally, I also manage Andrew Kerr, who is responsible for the development and management of the Greenwich Hub for Influence, Voice, and Engagement (G-HIVE), a critical component of METRO GAVS's operations.

I currently serve as a member on various partnership boards within the Royal Borough of Greenwich. These include the Health and Wellbeing Board, Children's Board, and the Healthier Greenwich Partnership. Through my participation in these influential bodies, I actively contribute to the advancement of collaborative efforts in enhancing health, wellbeing, and overall community cohesion in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.
